چکیده
Background Good quality of life correlates with a good exercise capacity in daily life in patients with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). Patients after correction of TOF usually develop residual defects as pulmonary regurgitation or pulmonary stenosis of different severity. We investigated the impact of several hemodynamic parameters measured by cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) and echocardiography and analysed these data together with results of cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) of these patients.

Right ventricular Hemodynamic Alteration after Pulmonary Valve Replacement in Children with Congenital Heart Disease
Introduction: In patients who underwent surgery to repair Tetralogy of Fallot, right ventricular dilation from pulmonary regurgitation may be result in right ventricular failure, arrhythmias and cardiac arrest. Hence, pulmonary valve replacement may be necessary to reduce right ventricular volume overload. The aim of present study was to assess the effects of pulmonary valve replacement on rig...
متن کاملAssessment of left ventricular preload by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging predicts exercise capacity in adult operated tetralogy of Fallot: a retrospective study
BACKGROUND The optimal timing of pulmonary homograft valve replacement (PVR) is uncertain. Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) and cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) are often used to guide the clinical decision for PVR in operated tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) patients with significant pulmonary regurgitation (PR). We aim to study the relationship between exercise capacity and CMR in these patie...
متن کاملAssessing Late Cardiopulmonary Function in Patients with Repaired Tetralogy of Fallot Using Exercise Cardiopulmonary Function Test and Cardiac Magnetic Resonance.
BACKGROUND Patients with repaired tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) usually experience progressive right ventricle (RV) dysfunction due to pulmonary regurgitation (PR). This could further worsen the cardiopulmonary function. This study aimed to compare the changes in patient exercise cardiopulmonary test and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, and consider the implication of these changes. METHODS Ou...
متن کاملOutcomes of Pulmonary Valve Replacement for Correction Pulmonary Insufficiency after Primary Repair of Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF)
Background Total correction of Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) anomaly in early childhood has been practiced in many centers with good results, but in some of patients after few years sever Pulmonary valve insufficiency occurred. Materials and Methods At a cross- sectional study from January 2015 to January 2016, 10 patients who had history of primary repair of TOF with free pulmonary insufficiency (...
متن کاملMid-term results of patients following total surgical correction of tetralogy of Fallot.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the mid-term clinical status of patients following tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) repair. We performed a cross-sectional observational analysis of 57 postoperative TOF patients and 58 age-matched controls. Patients were examined with myocardial performance index (MPI), which was obtained by tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) in addition to the conventional methods. Co...
